Sommo is a free wine app. We earn money in two ways: paid Premium subscriptions on the App Store, and a paid partner program for creators who refer new subscribers.

Some links on our blog, comparison pages, and recommendation lists may earn Sommo a small commission if you click through and buy. These typically include:

  • Wine subscription box reviews (linking to subscription services)
  • Wine fridge and accessory buying guides (linking to retailers)
  • Wine subscription comparisons
  • Wine club recommendations

These commissions never change the price you pay. Sommo only recommends products and services we believe are worth your time. If something is sponsored, we say so plainly at the top of the article.

Editorial independence

Reviews on this site are written by our own team based on our own testing and research. Affiliate relationships do not buy positive reviews. We have turned down partnerships with brands we could not stand behind, and we have published critical comparisons of products we are affiliated with.

Partners and creators who promote Sommo

Sommo runs a paid partner program. Creators we approve receive a unique promo code that earns them 30% recurring commission when a referred customer subscribes to Sommo Premium. Partners promoting Sommo on their own channels (blog, social, podcast, newsletter, video) are expected to follow the FTC’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising, the UK’s CAP Code and ASA guidance, and any equivalent local rules, and to clearly disclose their material connection to Sommo whenever they recommend the app.

Sommo does not direct editorial opinions of our partners and does not require partners to leave negative reviews of competing apps.

Advertising and tracking

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic. We do not run third-party ad networks. See our privacy policy for details on what data we collect and how long we retain it.
